A laboratory-recorded test tape which contains a series of line-up tones all recorded at a known, standard level or fluxivity. The tape is used to verify the performance of the recorder’s playback system. Once this is done, the record system is adjusted to produce a signal that, when played back on the playback system, are identical to the input signal. Also called a test tape.
